Rip Hunter…Time Master

Rip Hunter was the leader of a foursome of daring adventurers. While others would explore space or the hidden worlds under the sea, Rip and his crew would solve mysteries in time.

Rip’s team consisted of himself, Bonnie Baxter, her little brother Corky, and their friend Jeff Smith. (Similar line-ups were used in both the Fantastic Four and the Sea Devils.) This crew would travel back in time in their globe-shaped time sphere to solve historical mysteries and save the present day by setting some event in motion in the distant past.

Rip Hunter debuted in Showcase #21 and was featured in several other issues of that series before getting his own title in 1961. This title ran some twenty-nine issues before concluding in 1965.
