An obscure Chippewa legend tells of a shaman that protected the sacred forest from lumberjacks by transforming his daughter Desnoirs into a vampire. As their numbers dwindled, the survivors eventually destroyed the evil—or so they thought. But evil is never truly eradicated—it merely waits to unleash its wrath on earth. Draft dodger Brandon Thorn is the unfortunate soul that reawakens this evil. After Brandon’s disappearance, Ray begins searching the vast Canadian wilderness for his brother. What he eventually experiences will test the limits of his sanity. Legends are meant to entertain or educate but nonetheless have some factual basis. As Ray Thorn horribly realizes, this is one legend that is all-too true. This mini-series provides mature readers with an interesting twist on the vampire legend.
