Daimon Hellstrom, the Son of Satan, appeared for the first time in Ghost Rider (Vol. 1) #1. Born of the Devil himself, he eventually exorcised the source of blackness within him—his Darksoul—and became a member of the Defenders. In time he settled down, marrying fellow Defender Patsy Walker (Hellcat). However, without his Darksoul, his life began to fail him. In desperation Patsy called upon his dread father to restore it to him, for without his Darksoul, Daimon’s good half could not survive. Although that decision saved Daimon’s life, it cost Patsy dearly. Moreover, the person who rose from the pentagram that night was no longer her husband…he was now once more the Son of Satan.

It’s in this grim form that Daimon appears in this title. Borrowing from a misspelling, he is now Hellstorm, an appropriate name for a force of such dark fury.
