Tales From Necropolis

While horror comics are far from original, the genre has waned in popularity since its inception in the 1950s. In an attempt to tap into a once thriving market, Brainstorm Comics threw its self-publishing hat into the ring in the mid 1990s and came up with Tales From Necropolis. Described as a comic magazine, the book provides a number of horror shorts written and illustrated by some of the biggest names in the field. It also provides interviews with industry insiders, reviews on anything horror related (i.e. films, magazines, books and comics) and updates on the goings-on in the world of the macabre.

The rotating cast of talented creators weaves stories of techno-terror (i.e. “WareBeast”), modern day horror (i.e. “Wood Werk”) and good old-fashioned ghosts (i.e. “Ghost in the Machine”), to cite just a few examples. An excellent primer for the newcomer to the genre, diehard fans will find it a return to what they have enjoyed for decades.
