Fawcett Miniatures

    (Fawcett, 1946)
™ and ©1946 Fawcett Publications, Inc.

In 1946, Fawcett Comics, the publishers of Captain Marvel (Shazam!) and other popular titles of the Golden Age, reprinted several of their stories in 3-3/4-by-5” 24-page booklets with newsprint covers and gave them away as promotions in packages of Wheaties Cereal. Issues featured a lead story with Captain Marvel or Captain Marvel Jr. and a backup with one of Fawcett’s “second banana” characters such as Bulletman and Golden Arrow. Because of their unusual size, format, and distribution, it is hard to say how many issues were published (Overstreet Price Guide lists four) or how many survived to the present day (Gerber’s Photojournal does not list the title at all).
