Desperadoes: Quiet of the Grave

    (Homage, 2001)
™ and ©2001 Homage Comics, an imprint of DC Comics

In the Arizona territory in 1880 just north of the Mexican border, Gideon Brood, Jerome Betts, Abby Degrazia and Race Kennedy, relax and recuperate at a tavern presumably secure from any bounty hunting opportunists. But when Jimmy Miggs, a local boy who dreams big, challenges Brood, Brood refuses to take him seriously. Miggs will not be denied however, and forces Brood’s hand. The death of the would-be-hero weighs heavily on Brood who is tired of killing. When his companions seek him out the next day to inform him that Migg’s body has mysteriously disappeared, they discover that Brood has packed up and left.

This all-too-rare western title (albeit a supernatural western) brings comic art master John Severin (King Kull), back to comics in this five-issue mini-series written by Jeff Mariotte using characters from his previous series, Desperadoes.
