Marvel Mangaverse: Avengers Assemble!

    (Marvel, 2002)
™ and ©2002 Marvel Characters, Inc.

As the habitual super-hero stereotypes wear thin in this age, it’s become just as stereotypical to see comic book companies take their characters out of the expected settings and experiment with the concept instead of the storyline. Seeing the Avengers as manga heroes is one of these experiments.

When a giant beast called the Hulk ravages the Earth, it’s up to the Avengers to stop him. But even they need help in this case; they need giant linking robots, the Iron Avengers! But wait! Since the evil Apocalypse can absorb and control machines, he wants the robots too. After battling his underlings Juggernaut, Archangel, Sinister and the White Queen, the Avengers must fight Apocalypse himself, not separately though; they link up and fight as Ultimate Iron Man! The story is continued in another title, Marvel Mangaverse: Eternity Twilight.
