DC First: Green Lantern/Green Lantern

Kyle Rayner currently wields the power of Green Lantern, but he is far from the first man to do so. Alan Scott, the father of Kyle’s girlfriend Jade, was the first Green Lantern of Earth. But it was test-pilot Hal Jordan, however, who was the most famous, and possibly the greatest, hero to bear the name.

In this new version of a story first told in 1965’s Green Lantern (2nd Series) #40, Kyle learns of the cosmic events that led to the first team-up of the Silver Age and Golden Age heroes. Can two men who, ironically, can’t stand each other put aside their differences long enough to defeat Krona, an ancient menace seeking the secrets of the origins of the universe? They better, because if Krona succeeds, it could mean the destruction of the entire universe.
