Robocop (Magazine)
(Marvel, 1987)
™ and © 1987 Marvel Characters, Inc.
In the not-to-distant future, Detroit has become a bed of corruption and crime, abetted by the avarice of Omni Consumer Products, the corporation that runs the police department. Alex Murphy was one of a dying breed, a cop with an overwhelming sense of duty and honor. When a gang of criminals fatally wounded him, OCP used his remains to construct the ultimate policeman. Murphy became a cyborg, ostensibly unable to care about anything except his programming. But OCP did not consider that their creation might hold higher ideals than being a “company man.” This story affirms the power of the human spirit versus cold technology in the employ of human greed.
This Marvel adaptation of the hit movie features artwork by Javier Saltares who also illustrated other movie-inspired titles such as Aliens Vs. Predator: Duel and Darkman (Vol. 2).
