Lone

A mixture of Clint Eastwood and Judge Dredd, Lone is the humanity’s last hope in a world where Night of the Living Dead plays around the clock. Aptly named, this laconic gunslinger is a high plains drifter who rescues the youth Mark and his sister Luke from the rampaging zombies that roam the West. With Lone at their side, can these siblings fight their way home to the town of Desolation?

A fearsome wolf pack thinks otherwise. Byproducts of a biological experiment, these fanged survivors exhibit human intelligence—and murderous cunning! Will Mark let his suspicions get the best of him, as he fears that Lone is a zombie in sheep’s clothing? When the pack makes its final attack, will Mark feed Lone to the wolves?

Matching its protagonist step for step, this series knows when to hold ’em, fold ’em, walk away, and run. Evoking an atmosphere that drips both anxiety and anticipation, Moore’s story blends the best of both the Western and horror genres, without succumbing to their sentimentality or sensationalism. That story is complimented by Opeña’s starkly expressive pencils. Lone’s crowd of admirers is bound to get larger by the day.
