The radio show The Land of the Lost ran on and off from 1943 to 1948, created, written and produced by Isabel Manning Hewson. The land was located at the bottom of the sea, where everything that had been lost wound up. Children Isabel and Billy traveled there with Red Lantern, a talking fish. The show motto was “Never say lost.”

E.C. licensed the show, and Hewson wrote the series, mostly drawn by Olive Bailey. Intriguingly, the company imprint changed from “An Educational Comic” to “An Entertaining Comic” with #6.
