Street Wolf
(Blackthorne, 1986)
™ and ©1986 Mark Wayne Harris and Dennis Francis
Street Wolf is Nathan Blackhorse, a martial arts expert turned crimefighter. Unlike so many other grim ’n’ gritty avengers, he refuses to overstep the bounds of the law and become a true vigilante. As a result, he enjoys the great respect of the police.
His crusade against crime is chronicled in this three-issue mini-series by the character Joyce Prescott, a reporter. Street Wolf is not a flashy do-gooder, just a man committed to doing what’s right. The world he travels in is singularly dark, including drug-crazed knife murderers bankrolled by criminal kingpins. Even as Street Wolf finds himself closing in on the source of this evil, Joyce finds herself being ever more drawn to him. The big surprise of the series is that Joyce’s father is the very criminal kingpin which Street Wolf must inevitably confront.
