A rather aimless underground title specializing in minor pieces by well-known artists (possibly rejected elsewhere), and consequently of great interest to dedicated collectors but of little to more casual readers. Later issues were also something of a showcase for new artists, with Melinda Gebbie (#6, 7) and the talented but obscure John Burnham (#5–7) particularly shining. By far the series’ best strip was from the established Bill Griffiths with #5’s brief but poignant tribute to the legendary (if unbalanced) artist Rory Hayes. ~DAR
