In 1962, a virtually unknown actor by the name of Peter O’Toole electrified audiences around the world with his portrayal of T. E. Lawrence in the Columbia Pictures classic, Lawrence of Arabia. Of course, he had some help from actors like Sir Alec Guiness, Omar Sharif, Anthony Quinn, and Jose Ferrer.

The following year, Dell published an adaptation of this classic story and called it simply: Lawrence. The story follows Lawrence’s adventures in Arabia during the First World War, where, at first, he merely went to observe the movements of Britain’s enemy, Turkey, and later became the heroic leader of the Arab tribes, defeating the Turks and recapturing the ancient city of Damascus.
