This slim but high-quality volume provides most every technical detail fans need to know about the alien-engineered bio-mechanical warsuit known as the X-O Manowar. In addition to schematics and a little bit of backstory on the Valiant series of the same name, readers also get a real novelty: a three-page transparent overlay showing first the Manowar suit, then a cutaway version depicting the interior, and finally a view of Aric of Dacia, the man in the suit. It’s a very slick production gimmick, but also a costly one, which probably explains why this comic weighs in at a mere 12 pages. Text is provided by Clifford VanMeter, with art by such notables as Bob Layton (Iron Man) and Joe Quesada (Azrael, Daredevil).
