DC Special Series

DC Special Series was a giant-sized reprint series that ran sporadically between 1977 and 1981. Its huge issues (up to one hundred pages) reprised early adventures of Batman, Doctor Fate, Superman and others. The title’s highlights included its reprints of Bernie Wrightson’s Swamp Thing stories, Frank Miller’s first Batman story in issue #21, and an almost unprecedented inter-company crossover in issue #27 that pitted DC’s Batman against Marvel’s Incredible Hulk.
