Weirdom Comix
(Weirdom, 1970-1972)
©1972 Dennis A. Cunningham
For those of you who remember The Twilight Zone, Rod Serling’s classic opening line, “Picture if you will…,” should be echoing in your mind as you read the stories presented here. This black-and-white series combines the surreal feel of the Twilight Zone with the bizarrely adventurous quality found in Heavy Metal magazine.
Most of the stories are short, usually only two or three pages, and range in style from freakishly silly to eerily chilling. Even the longer tales are told in short chapters, with the other stories interspersed in between.
Weirdom Comix also utilizes a variety of writers and artists, adding to the enjoyment potential of the series. A reader who does not like the style or content of one story may find the very next tale to be one of their favorites.
