Necroscope

™ and ©1993 Brian Lumley

Necroscope is the comic adaptation of Brian Lumley’s supernatural spy novel of the same name. Martin Powell scripted the series, while Daerick Gröss illustrated. Before the fall of communism, the Soviet Union developed a covert spy group that used ESP-wielding agents as its main weapon. The agents were “Necroscopes,” psychics that could read the memories of the dead.

No other government had a spy unit as developed, until Great Britain began to catch up. Both sides even began employing “spotters,” psychics whose gift was to detect other psychics, as a way of ferreting out enemy agents. With these new abilities being employed, the cold war game of cloak-and-dagger was entering a terrifying new age.

This painted, five-issue mini-series began its run in 1992.
