Little Ronzo in Slumberland
(Slave Labor, 1987)
™ and © 1987 Slave Labor Graphics
This black-and-white title from Slave Labor and writer-artist Jimbino takes former President Ronald Reagan to task for his right-wing views on the economy, foreign relations, alternative lifestyles, etc. Here, Ronzo journeys through the fertile imaginations of political science students, ignoring the cries of the poor and facing off against third-world nations with Rambo—the ultimate symbol of America’s war-hawk spirit—at his side. Some biting political satire, indeed—rendered in a style reminiscent of Berke Breathed’s “Bloom County” and “Outland.”
