Xero

    (DC, 1997-1998)
™ and ©1997 DC Comics

Xero is a “closer”—an agent brought in to clean up when someone else has botched the job. He works for a top-secret agency which gave him enhanced powers to enable him to do his deadly work. Among them are a deadeye laser eye; assorted bio-organic implants which extend his physical abilities and give him the power to literally walk through walls; and a continuous uplink to the SkyTrane computer for instant tactical analysis of any situation. His most devastating characteristic, however, may be his utter lack of moral sense, or hesitation in pursuing his mission.

When he’s not stopping druglords or engaging in covert operations, Xero is Coltrane (“Trane”) Walker, a notorious basketball player. As a final element in his disguise, Xero appeared to be a white man, although Trane Walker was really black.
