Mark Texeira worked on Ghost Rider at Marvel and Conan at Dark Horse before releasing his first creator–owned series through Image Comics. Pscythe is set in the near–future after the fall of Lucifer’s army and deals with a vengeful fallen angel named Murai. Texeira credits the grim vibe in Pscythe to his fondness for film noir. The first two issues of Pscythe are black and white previews for the subsequent five issue story arc. Issues 1 and 2 also preview Jonathan Raskin’s “Industry of War” in back-up stories and back covers. Industry of War deals with two covert ops agents assigned by the military to track down prototypes of some particularly nasty weapons systems that were inadvertently released from government control.
