Demon Gun

    (Crusade, 1996-1997, 2005)
™ and ©1996 Gary Kohn and Barry Orkin

Crusade Comics, home of the ever-popular Shi title, brings its unique brand of genre storytelling to the world of sequential art. Drawing from both The Exorcist and spaghetti western Have Gun Will Travel, Demon Gun hits the stands as a black and white three issue mini-series.

Written by Gary Cohen and illustrated by Barry Orkin, Demon Gun follows the Reverend William Howe, the story’s 1866 anti-hero, on his apocalyptic march of vengeance. Seeing his beloved town of Temperance New Mexico ravaged and burned by an evil group of comancheros, the preacher uses his final breath to strike a deal with what he thinks is God. Imbued with remarkable powers and reborn from the fires that torched his village; Reverend Howe sets forth across the South West in true Clint Eastwood style to avenge the death of his congregation.

Interested in a brief departure from the average super-hero in tights comic book world? Then Demon Gun is definitely the book to read.
