In the Tangent Universe, nothing is the same as in the DC Universe except the names. This is the seventh installment in DC's second run of comics set in the Tangent Universe, in 1998.

The city of New Atlantis is the technological showcase of the world, built after the accidental destruction of Atlanta by the original Atom during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Its whimsical defender is the Joker, though she is considered an outlaw. After a visit to New Atlantis by the current Atom, grandson of the original, the city is hit by the worldwide electromagnetic pulse caused by the creation of the Ultra-Humanite in Tangent Comics/Nightwing: Night Force, and is blacked out. Though affected by the power loss himself, Atom is blamed for it, and the JLA is sent to capture him. Of course the Joker, his teammate in the Secret Six, can't let that happen, but she also has a responsibility to help the rest of the city. She needs to be everywhere at once, but even a trickster like her can't pull that off... Can she?
