Not to be confused with Tony Scott’s arty vampire flick from 1983 starring David Bowie and Catherine Deneuve, this book follows the progress of Charlie, an innocent kid who gets murdered and turned into a zombie by a Caribbean gangster during a Mardi Gras visit to New Orleans.

Creators Jose Torres and Chris DiBari reinvent the zombie paradigm as a creature that retains human intelligence and consciousness but loses control of its appetites—specifically, the hunger for human brains. Zombie enthusiasts may something fresh in The Hunger which offers well-realized characters and rich, color illustration. The creators also plan to include a five page back-up story written and drawn by various friends in every issue.
