Rex Mundi is not a character; rather, it’s Latin for “King of the World.” Writer Arvid Nelson and artist Eric Johnson create an alternate world wherein sorcery and religion collide in Paris, France in the early 1930s. When Father Gerard Marin from L’Eglise de La Madeleine discovers that ancient manuscripts – so sacred that nobody else below the Archbishop is aware of them - have been stolen from the church, and he suspects that witchcraft was involved in their theft. He then solicits the help of Dr. Julien Sauniere and dark secrets are slowly revealed.
