Lux & Alby Sign On and Save the Universe

    (Dark Horse, 1993)
©1993 Martin Millar and Simon Fraser

Lux the Poet is the last of the hopeless optimists. Alby Starvation is an out of work comic book fanatic. Together they’ve been living in a London squat and trying to sign up for the dole. Then, life got a little confusing…

First, Ruby moved in with them in exchange for helping them get on the dole. She then invited a couple of druggies in as well. Then Iskar, the weird guy upstairs got mad about not being allowed into Nirvana when his last life ended and vowed to force his way in. To prevent this, the goddess Ishtar closed Nirvana. This bummed out a lot of people, and Ishtar’s hoping that someone will stop Iskar from using his special I Ching to break in. Also, Ishtar has sent her handmaiden Menta on a quest to become the best kisser in the universe…a goal similar to Lux’s, ever since he decided he wanted to woo the beauteous Pearl away from her girlfriend…And then one of Alby’s new roomies sells his comic collection and uses the money to buy drugs!
