In May of 1992, Solar, Man of the Atom left an enemy named Fred Bender to die in the scorching heat of Death Valley. Scarcely a month later, a considerably recuperated Bender appeared on the doorstep of Master Darque. He promised Darque that he would do anything at all, if only Darque would give him the power to destroy Solar.

Darque granted Bender his wish, although it cost Bender his very humanity. Bender became the energy creature known as Doctor Eclipse, and was able to take out Solar with astonishing ease. Now, he poses a threat to the entire world.

Secret Weapons draws together the Harbinger kids, Shadowman, X-O Manowar, Doctor Mirage, the Eternal Warrior, and Bloodshot, as they join forces to fight Master Darque and this grave new menace he has created.
