Dean Aspiel continues the adventures of Billy Dogma, an overly emotional, muscle-laden super-hero dealing with relationships. The short stories contained within display the influence of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s Marvel work of the early 60s – pulp-fiction dialogue and over-the-top action – but placed in a bombastic romantic context. Dogma’s love for his girlfriend Jane Legit exposes his vulnerability, showing him to be a Superman on the outside but a wallflower deep within. Aim to Dazzle contains several short stories propelled by quirky wit and heart-on-my-sleeve confessions.
