The indicia of Death & Candy states, “No similarity between any of the names, characters, persons and institutions and those of any living or dead person is intended and any similarity that may exist is purely coincidental.” In the case of Death & Candy such similarity wouldn’t be coincidental, it would be astounding.

In “Car-Boy’s Garden,” the bodies of the parents of Car-Boy, whose head is shaped like a car, are buried in a compost heap in his basement. When he disposes of a leftover piece of meat in the same compost heap it roots and flourishes as a sentient meat tree. Then things get very bizarre.

“The Evacuation” is the story of a man visiting his family after a long absence. His family home is now an archaeological dig. He has been gone a long time and his family is different than he remembers them.

These are the abstract expressionist visions of Swedish underground artist Max Andersson. His symbolism, like his artwork, is something less than subtle.
