Elseworld’s Finest

™ and ©1997 DC Comics

Imagine Clark Kent performing Superman-like feats but unaware of his alien heritage. Here Bruce Wayne portrays a penniless soldier of fortune with a rogue’s heart. Welcome to Elseworld, where heroes are removed from familiar surroundings and placed into strange eras and locations. Some exist that could have existed, some don’t exist, others can’t, shouldn’t, and won’t.

Desperately seeking her father’s whereabouts, Lana Lang enlists the aid of her high school sweetheart, Clark Kent, and an amoral Bruce Wayne. After the men form a shaky partnership, the real adventure begins in the Egyptian desert. Along with a young Jimmy Olsen, the group witnesses an unbelievable event: Prince Ra’s Al-Ghul’s corpse is restored to life! Solid writing, bold ideas, and interesting characters combined with no-nonsense artwork adds up to great reading.
