One has to admire John Bergin’s imagination. He has created an entire world and populated it with extraordinary creatures and concepts, very few of them poor. Unfortunately, though, beyond that he hit a brick wall, having little idea how to marshall his bleak ideas into a plot, and lacking the artistic skill that may have gone some way to compensating for it. What may have been something much more is reduced to a succession of pyrotechnics. One hopes that Bergin progressed to some kind of movie design work.
