Black and white graphic novel series; read right to left.

The Japanese manga studio Clamp comprises four creators. Recently, the group has been Nanase Ohkawa, Mokona Apapa, Mick Nekoi, and Satsuki Igarashi. Readers who have enjoyed Clamp’s Cardcaptor series will be pleased to see its cast recast in new and unexpected roles. A mystical event leaves Sakura in a coma, and her only chance to recover is for her friend Syaoran to gather up her memories that have been scattered throughout the universe. Together, they first cross over into the world of Yuko the Witch from xxxHolic. There, along with a ninja and a mage, they are sent on a quest across the Clamp multiverse, where they’re constantly finding themselves bumping into characters from other series.

Although those who know Clamp’s body of work will get extra pleasure from this, even those who aren’t familiar with the work of the Clamp collective are likely to enjoy this wholly original fantasy. It has elements of both the Oz books and Crisis on Infinite Earths and is drawn in a style that is substantially different from anything else Clamp has done to date.
