Technology has a long and nasty history of progressing far faster than man’s ability to use it wisely. In Jack Kirby’s vision of the future, technologies such as genetics and robotics give powerful tools to those who want to do the devil’s work. To keep things in line, the World Peace Organization has been founded—a non-partisan group of troubleshooters whose faces are cosmetically blanked to hide their racial origins. A secret agent organization of sorts, they infiltrate groups that are using technology to evil ends. Their point man is a powerhouse called Omac: One Man Army Corps. Omac is linked via a sigil on his chest to an orbiting satellite called “Brother Eye.” He receives his incredible powers through that link, as well as information he needs to complete his missions.

This original series lasted only eight issues, but Omac lasted far longer, including appearances in Kamandi and Warlord, and a four-issue remake by John Byrne.
