On Lurieh, the mystical psycho-science replaces physical science as the force that drives this advanced society. Seska is a skilled magical transdimensional navigator who maneuvers ships through interdimensional space. Returning to Lurieh in her travels, the reigning religious group attempts to entangle her in their schemes. Their goal is to eliminate all the negative karma in the universe, but the spell has a serious flaw.

She warns her father, a powerful magician from another religion. He casts a spell which binds itself to Seska. He also summons Susano, the god of destruction, to try to prevent the terrible forces unleashed by the release of the karma-eating creature. Can he save the universe?

Masamune Shirow is a master of detail in his beautiful artwork, and witty in his character’s aside comments. He is also the creator of Appleseed and Dominion.
