Many Loves of Dobie Gillis

Dobie Gillis was a typical teenage sitcom, similar in style to Archie in the comic books, so it was only natural that after the TV show’s debut and subsequent popularity that a comic book series would follow. Surprisingly, it was published by DC Comics and not Dell, the typical publisher of such comics. Girl crazy Dobie (played by Dwayne Hickman) had a Jughead-like sidekick named Maynard G. Krebs, played by Bob “Gilligan” Denver, who was a beatnik with a goatee.
