If you love watching World Championship Wrestling on television or in person, this comic book adaptation of the “sport” will make you feel right at home. The running commentary narration is smoothly done. The artists capture the look and the feel of the fighters. The plotting is as coherent as any WCW show. The only difference between this and the televised bouts is the focus on the young people in the audience. Instead of a faceless throng booing, cheering, and never seen except when a wrestler is thrown into the audience, young fans are sometimes the focus as they reached out to their heroes in the ring and met a real person with real problems. True, this series does not explain WCW or attempt to tone down the violence, but if you already enjoy seeing two-and four-hundred-pound men getting their heads bashed with two-by-fours, this title is a good read.
