Fox and the Crow

    (DC, 1951-1968)
DC

This classic series from the late 1950s and 1960s charmingly pits the clever crow against the simple fox in myriad short stories. Reminiscent of Aesop’s fables, the crow is always looking to out-smart the fox, and often does. However, in this series, the clever crow is also sometimes too clever for his own good; as a result, the simple fox comes off as more lovable than foolish.

Fox and the Crow also featured a series of backup stories such as Hare and Hound. These were eventually usurped by Stanley and His Monster, a feature which proved so popular that Fox and the Crow later changed its name to Stanley and His Monster.
