Reminiscent of 1960s fantasy pulp comics, The Tiger Woman is a one shot comic story of a beautiful young woman raised by a pride of saber tooth tigers on Earth circa 2249 A.D. After making the journey to the last city on Earth, Pythonopolis, Tiger Woman finds herself thrust into a world filled with “strife, turmoil, endeavor, and decadence.” After rescuing her from pawns of the Festival Channel, “a broadcasting franchise closely affiliated with the city government,” the Tiger Woman joins forces with a group of rebels to help restore morality to Pythonopolis. But just as she is beginning to learn more about her role in loosening the Festival Channel’s grip on the city, Tiger Woman and a “cryo-subject” from the 20th century find themselves prisoners of a race of aliens with an unclear agenda. From the Frank Frazettaesque painted cover to the mishmash of genres, The Tiger Woman is a nostalgic nod to a simpler, albeit more contrived, comic book era.
