Night City

    (Thorby, 1998)
™ and ©1998 Mort Castle and Thorby Enterprises, Inc.

Mort Castle takes a hard and honest look at violence in America with this collection of stories that could have been lifted from current headlines. Having nothing to do with super-heroes, swashbuckling pirates, or even supernatural threats from beyond the grave, Night City takes honest looks at violence and gives us rare flashes of insight into the human condition.

These black-and-white short stories don’t pad themselves with continuing subplots or televised sensationalism, but rather tell quickly and clearly the stories of people where violence has injected itself into their lives and touched them in some fashion. The pain is neither glamorized nor dimmed, graphically expanded nor prettied up. It is merely part of a larger story.
