J. Michael Straczynski’s Rising Stars follows the lives of 113 people who were in the womb when a “flash” hit their town. As they grew up, they began to develop super-powers and with their newfound abilities came conflicts.

This six-issue spin-off series by writer Fiona Avery (Rogue) and artists Staz Johnson (Robin) follows Lionel Zerb, a Rising Star who can communicate with the recently deceased, which leads him to be a Ghost Interpreter who helps the living and explores the spirit realm. However, this ability may just get him into some trouble as his contacts with the dead push him toward something he had never counted on and a decision that may cost him the one thing he loves more than anything else in the world. These are the moments that make or break heroes, and this storyline has all the elements of archetypal hero tale. Will Zerb make the grade?
