After the frenzy generated by the Japanese import, Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, finally subsided, the calm was suspended by the arrival of these “pocket monsters” known collectively as Pokémon. Based on an animated series and adapted by Toshihiro Ono, these innumerable characters became a collecting phenomenon The most recognizable of these creatures is Pikachu, a mouse-like organism who has allied himself with Pokémon master, Ash Ketchum.

This title concerns a famous Pokémon race that bestows a great status upon the winner. Like most manga titles, good and evil are clearly represented. The rightful favorite, Lara, has been sidelined with an injury inflicted upon her by the unscrupulous Dario. Ash and Pikachu come to her aid with predictable comic results.
