Kafka

    (Renegade, 1987)
™ and ©1987 Steven T. Seagle

As writer Steven T. Seagle notes in the afterword, this comic can be read in five minutes or the reader can slow down and admire the way Seagle uses few words and many silent panels to craft an intriguing story. The black-and-white art lends to the desperate mood in the story of a man whose past has finally caught up with him. Calling himself Robert Kafka, he has been in hiding for years giving up everything including his identity and his wife. When several men show up unexpectedly on his doorstep claiming to be CIA, Kafka must run for his life, fleeing into the unknown future while forever craving all that he has left behind.
