The story begins on April 26, 1941. Indiana Jones was on an archaeological dig on the Peloponnesian peninsula in Greece. Only days before, the team had discovered the entrance to the tomb of an Achaeon King—a major find. But on that very day, the German war machine was overrunning the area. The team was forced to flee, along with the last of the British defense force.

True to his nature, Indy stayed behind. Working all night, he found his way into the tomb and found an ancient Greek sword. By the time he emerged in the morning, the area was surrounded by Germans, and he barely escaped with the help of a Greek woman named Omphala. The two had just made their way down to the docks when they were attacked again—this time by hooded cultists. The cultists took the sword and Indy followed in a stolen German plane. This trail would lead to harrowing dangers…and to the legendary artifact known as the Golden Fleece.
