The Spirit of the Tao

Written by D-Tron (a.k.a. Duy Truong) and featuring pencils by Billy Tan, The Spirit of the Tao owes much of its style to D-Tron’s popular Witchblade series. The basic story is of an ages-old evil that threatens humanity, and the few modern descendants of an elder race that stand against it.

The good guys are called the Jaikaps—only a handful of which survive today. Two Jaikaps, Jasmine and Lance, were schooled by their master Lang to fulfill their destiny. On their eighteenth birthday they were confronted by a group called the Tao Hunters, who sought to test their mettle before allying themselves with them to begin the fight anew against the great evil.

Writer D-Tron promises that as the series develops, so too will the themes of universal balance and the unity of opposites into a whole (as in the yin and yang).
