Vampirella/Dracula & Pantha Showcase

    (Harris, 1997)
™ and ©1997 Harris Publications, Inc.

As a preview for its Vampirella/Dracula: The Centennial book, Harris Comics released this showcase series. Derived from an old Irish folktale, writer Warren Ellis creates an erotically charged Vampirella chapter. As interpreted by painter Mark Beachum, each image of her generates a lusty hunger that only she can satisfy.

Alan Moore’s Dracula chapter includes his ingenious thoughts on modernizing the vampire legend. The “Vampirella & Dracula” chapter shows James Robinson’s script next to Rick May’s pencil sketches, providing an interesting insight into the correlation between the writer’s intent and the artist’s interpretation.

Pantha, on the other hand debuts without words: it consists exclusively of a series of powerful images. One can sense there is more to this mysterious woman than meets the eye.
