In the not-too-distant future, most of the Western Hemisphere has become a vast toxic dump known simply as the Mogobi. Into this wasteland come a team of intrepid scientists searching for a way to allow humans to adapt and survive in the harsh desert climes. But before their research is complete, they are attacked by a marauding band of soldiers in the employ of one Baxter Caesar, a corporate bad guy and something of a futuristic Lex Luthor. During the attack, in a desperate attempt to save themselves, two members of the team undergo a genetic-mutation procedure that gives them the adaptability of one of the Mogobi’s more resilient residents: a giant, ugly rat. They escape, but find themselves radically altered, with newfound powers—as well a new rodent-like appearance. This amateur indy comic isn’t much in art or production values, but its message about caring for the environment before it becomes a wasteland is certainly laudable, if not very well executed.
