Wild West (Charlton)

Series continued from Black Fury #57

Originally entitled Black Fury, Wild West is a Western anthology from Charlton Comics, often known for producing professional work without the flash or groundbreaking ideas of its competitors Marvel and DC. Wild West is typical Charlton fare: cleanly rendered, straightforward stories set in the Old West. It can also be politically correct for its time as well. In one tale, “The Story of Peace River,” trapper Seth Keane doesn’t kill the Indian who has just tried to hack him into pieces. He merely ties him up and tells him that he’ll eventually be freed.
