After years of spiraling production values and sanitized-to-the-point-of-pabulum in the ghetto that was Saturday morning television, the hit movie, “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” in 1988 brought animation back to public awareness. The popularity of the movie engendered three new animated cartoons for theatrical release, “Tummy Trouble,” “Hare in My Soup” and “Roller Coaster Rabbit.” This book is the adaptation of the first cartoon, which consists of selecting pertinent frames of the cartoon and adding the typeset dialogue.

While Roger is babysitting Baby Herman, the irrepressible toddler swallows his rattle. This necessitates a visit to the hospital where a series of frenetic situations develop employing mistaken identity, an open elevator shaft, flying hypodermic needles and a runaway laser drill. The non-stop action is described by writer-animator, Mark Kausler as “a forties cartoon on amphetamines!”
