Legion Worlds

™ and ©2001 DC Comics

The Legion of Super-Heroes is gone. After the Great Rift Disaster, eleven members of the legion were missing and presumed dead. United Planets president, Leland McCauley, decided to disband the Legion in honor of their memory. This perverse “honor” has left M’onel as the sole guardian of Earth on active duty. The first issue of this mini-series illustrates that this will be a monumental task even for someone as powerful and messianic as M’onel.

This mini-series is the lead-in to the next legion book titled simply The Legion and follows the 12-issue maxi-series, Legion Lost, which revealed the fate of the missing Legionnaires and their quest to return home. Legion Worlds, on the other hand, divulges the story of the survivors and how they coped. This is similar to the theme of the Funeral for a Friend story arc that followed the death of Superman in 1993.
