Fred Hembeck made his mark in the comic book world by parodying the Marvel and DC super-heroes in his own inimitable fashion of cartoony versions with swirly elbows and knees. Hembeck is one of many magazine formatted books featuring a collection of both old and new stories. Marvel was so impressed with Hembeck’s work that they eventually hired him to write and draw the Fantastic Four Roast, a special one shot honoring the superhero team upon the 20th anniversary of the Fantastic Four title.
